Original Typed Letter Signed by Joan Harrison Ambler, producer and screenwriter of two Alfred Hitchcock films ÔRebeccaÕ and ÔSaboteurÕ and wife of author Eric Ambler to her friend Kendall Milestone, actress and wife of director Lewis Milestone. Single sheet, 8 1/4Ó x 10 7/8Ó, on printed light blue personal stationery, signed ÒJoanÓ on the verso with the original postmarked envelope addressed to ÒMrs. Lewis MilestoneÓ in Beverly Hills, CA. The letter has minor creases from folding and the envelope has a bit of wear at the top where it was neatly opened, else both are in fine condition. The letter relates day to day issues and JoanÕs desire to come visit Kendall in California without Eric, for the sunshine and quality social time with friends. She closes the letter affectionately: ÒI miss you very much indeed - and send my fondest love to you and to Milly [Lewis MilestoneÕs nickname], Joan.Ó with a p.s. referencing a letter she received from film producer and mutual friend Tony Havelock A (Anthony Havelock-Allan). Kendall Milestone (1903 - 1978) worked as an actress as Kendall Lee, most notably in Rain (1932) with Joan Crawford and in The Lady is Willing (1934) with Leslie Howard and Cedric Hardwicke.
