Within the text there are various coloured and black-and-white illustrations, maps and green toned photographs, the illustrations have been drawn by serving members of the Australian forces. Tan coloured boards with white coloured titles to the front panel along with a small white coloured illustration. White coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The fourth book of the series, in which the Australian Army presented to people at home during World War II. This book deals with military operations in the jungle and kunai, mountains and swamps of New Guinea. Softening, rubbing and some fraying of the back strip edges. Bumping and rubbing of the book corners with rubbing of the lower book edges. Cocking of the spine and there is a little rubbing of the book panels. Light uniform tanning of the text block edges and pages with some foxing of the text block edges. The dustwrapper is in component parts:  with only the fold over flaps and front panel still present. Multiple chips and tears to all edges with the front fold over crease being supported by tape  tape still in situ. Tears to the edges of the fold over creases with Browning also present  please see photograph. This is the first Australian edition. The production quality of this volume is higher than the previous years, obviously, because better quality materials were available after the war. The colour illustrated dustjacket has a one and a half inch tear either side of the bottom edge of the front panel, a three-quarter inch tear on the bottom left of the rear panel, and minor rubbing and chipping to the head and tail of the spine section.
