At head of title: 32d Congress, 1st Session, Ex. Doc. No. 49. Results of a survey conducted in 1850 and 1851 led by Captain Joshua Barney of the United States Topographical Corps of Engineers for a rail line running from St. Louis to a point on the Arkansas River near Little Rock. The result was the Mississippi, Ouachita, and Red River Railroad, the first incorporated railroad in Arkansas. HOWES B-158 (errouneously giving the date 1853).
