He sent newspaper and magazine reports during the Arab revolt of 1882, the subsequent British occupation, and was well remembered for his telegrahpic description of the bombardment of Alexandria.

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Ink inscription to the first blank, dated 1890. An engaging account of Charles Frederic Moberly Bell's travels through Egypt, with illustrations throughout by Georges Montbard, engraved by Charles Barbant. Charles Frederic Moberly Bell (1847-1911) was a British journalist and newspaper editor. He was the managing director of The Times during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with light shelf wear to the extremities, joints and head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean, with just the occasional spot to the end papers. Very Good. book.
