Pictorial endpapers, two foldout color maps ("Based on an outline map of the Military Division of the Pacific 1878," and "The Region of the Indian Wars in the Arizona Territory"), and illustrated with black & white prints by Frederic Remington.

The interior of the book is also in spotless condition. The dust jacket as issued is very good but does have some sunning to the spine and edges and several spots on the spine itself. Also some wear and six small holes worn through to bottom right corner. There is one small quarter-inch tear to the rear bottom of the wrapper. (See additional picture.) This book # 708 of 2100 limited copies. The fine introduction is by Western Americana author W.H. Hutchinson of Chico State College, California. The book features the post Civil War United States in the far West and its conflict with the native tribes of the region. There is a map of the region of Indian wars and the illustrations from Frederic Remington. 59+ pages.
