1 vols. varios sizes. 1 vols. varios sizes. Cartooning. Richard Guindon, raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, went to New York in the 60's where he worked as a free-lance cartoonist. His cartoons appeared in "Playboy," "Esquire," "The Nation, "The Realist," and "Downbeat," to name a few. For a year he was travelling in Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Turkey as a cartoonist-correspondent for "The Realist." He returned to Minneapolis in 1968 after some 11 years there he moved on to the "Detroit Free Press." Jesse Frankel was a Professor of Anthropology at Pace University in New York. He attended Cornell, CUNY (MS) and NYU (PhD) then taught at the New School, Cooper Union and NYU. He and his wife Ida were both deeply involved in the civil rights movement and "local progressive politics" in New York and were very interested in "examining aging and intergenerational conflict inspired by the cultural changes in the Sixties." (Anthropology Obits.) He died October 1996 and his wife three months later. While having no children of their own, it is apparently from this correspondence that Guindon was very close to them and they to him. They were the dedicatees of his "World according to Carp" Some rubbing of binding,s light soiling, some of Frankel retained copies badly creased and torn, some browning of newpaper clippings, else a very good collection.
