A VERY FINE, BRIGHT COPY IN THE VERY SCARCE DJ, which is complete and with minimal wear; now in mylar sleeve. Photos available le upon request. Interior is very clean and tight. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Part one describes a 1918 hunt on the Kenai Peninsula for moose and sheep. The second part describes a 1921 includes brown bear hunting in the Kenai and an additional hunt into the for moose, sheep and caribou in the Susitna-Kuskokwin country. Well illustrated with 60 photographs taken in the field. The folding map is in fine condition and very detailed. Hubback is a very good writer and clearly describes these early Alaskan hunts. He describes the thrill of the chase, as well as the difficulty in getting into the remote and uncharted territory in the Alaskan Range near Rainy Pass. Based on notes he kept at the time, its detailed and descriptive. His hunting guide for both hunts was Andy Simons, to whom Hubback gives great credit for their success. A great tale of adventure with the background of pioneer Alaska always present.
