Copia autografata
Messina, Presso Giuseppe Pappalardo, 1819, in-folio, 37,5 x 27 cm, (6)nn pp (engraved portrait frontispiece , engraved title , dedication) + X pp + 167 pp + (1)(errata) + (2)(blank) + (68)nn pp ( 34 plates, printed on recto side only) (complete). Bound in contemporary half leather, with boards covered with marbled paper, smooth spine with title label, binding with small traces of wear. A fine crisp copy. Rare finely illustrated study on the ''Greek'' antiquities discovered at Acre (Sicily). The town is now called Palazollo Acreide (about 35 km west of Syracuse). The plates, many depicting Greek vases, were probably engraved by Giuseppi Politi of Syracuse who signed the portrait frontispiece.
