Emery was Ellsworth's brother and co-photographer on the trip. Book has some outer wear especially at spine ends, a few pages are spotted and hinges are slightly shaken. Illustrated with wonderful b & w photo plates of the trip (1911), color frontispiece (also on front panel) and one map. There are also three photo plates not mentioned in the list of illustrations (on pp. 34, 42 and 186). Text has some footnotes with an appendix at the end. Very descriptive text - hard to believe people traveled the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in wooden boats. Book is slightly fragile but still looks quite good. Inscribed by Author(s).
