Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Color, B/w Illustrations (illustratore). 1st Edition. 95 pages with plates (some in color) and maps. Quarto (11" x 8 1/2") bound in original pictorial wrappers. First edition. The collection which forms the content of this catalog and exhibition is the work of a remarkable couple Erel and Clyta Loran. After acquiring his first piece of tribal art in 1926, he continued to collect objects for the sheer enjoyment of their aesthetic qualities. Thus the collection, begun at a time when it was not fashionable to collect this kind of material as art, gives a strong insight into the aesthetic sensibilities of the Lorans. Condition: Spine sunned, hinges rubbed, previous owner's initials on front end paper else a very good copy.
