Edges and some page margins foxed, ownership signature on the corner of the front paste-down, o/w very good in good/fair dustjacket with some soiling, closed tears and professional restoration (notably a large piece at the top of the spine restoring the title). George Fletcher MacMunn (1869-1952) was an English soldier and writer, the British commander in chief in Mesopotamia (1919-1920) and quartermaster general in India (1920-24). He wrote quite a few books on India history and society. This copy has a colour frontispiece, many b/w plates and a fold-out map of the Northern India districts of Kashmir and Rajputana. An uncommon book in jacket.
