Couverture souple. Condizione: Bon. Edition originale, Édition limitée. par M. Louis de Maleden, ancien lieutenant colonel de cavalerie, membre de la société impériale d'agriculture, sciences et arts de Strasbourg. On y a joint les Extraits des comptes rendus de cet ouvrage, par différents journaux, ainsi que quelques lettres particulières adressées à l'auteur, qui y sont relatives. A Versailles, de l'imprimerie de Ph.-D. Pierres, à Paris, chez Bossange, Masson et Besson, 1803-1805 1 volume in-8 (22,3 x 14,2 cm), broché, (4)-VIII-234 et (4)-60 et 31 pages. Couverture de l'époque en papier à la colle. L'étiquette de titre a disparu. Bon état général, non rogné. Légères mouillures à quelques feuillets. Petites galeries de vers dans la marge basse de quelques feuillets (sans aucune gravité). Édition originale. Une étiquette en papier imprimé à l'époque indique que cet ouvrage se vendait à Versailles chez Jacob, imprimeur-libraire, place d'armes, n°8. L'ouvrage se trouvait aussi à Limoges chez Bargeas et compagnie, libraires, rue Ferrerie. Louis de Maleden est né à Leitat (château de Leitat) en Limousin, département de la Haute-Vienne. Le Plan organique possède sa propre page de titre datée de l'an XIII (1805). Ce Plan a aussi paru séparément. L'auteur avait émigré en 1791. Il visita de nombreux pays dans lesquels il étudia le fonctionnement des haras. A son retour en France en 1801 il fut nommé chef du dépôt d'étalons de Grand-Pré (Ardennes), puis de celui de Perpignan en 1809. Les haras avaient été supprimés pendant la révolution et furent officiellement rétablis en 1806. Ce livre expose "le résultat intéressant des observations que ses voyages dans une grande partie du nord de l'Europe, l'ont mis à portée de faire. Il y a joint le tableau des vues les plus utiles sur les moyens de réparer promptement en France, pour l'accroissement et le perfectionnement de la race des chevaux, les ravages que des temps désastreux ont causé dans les établissements consacrés à cet objet important dont elle jouissait avant la révolution."
