DJ is soiled with chips taken from the edges; end pages with light soiling and previous owner's name and bookplate; interior otherwise fresh and clean. Nice gift item.

Writing on front endpaper includes date 1913. Hinges broken back and front but net holding. Illustrations by Harriet M. Bennet, Helena Maguire, Walter Paget, E.J.Andrews etc, some in colour and some black and white some of which have been well coloured. Pages grubby, one colour illustration lose. A much loved book of stories for children.

All illustrations clean, unmarked and untroubled in any way. Charming, in text line drawings on almost every page, full page ills. are bright and glowing. A very tidy, well-kept example of this quite uncommon little book.
