Generally bindings in good solid condition. Internally, private library stamp on endpapers, engraved frontis's heavily foxed. Pages clean. A good sold set. Size: 8vo.

Leather. Condizione: Very Good Indeed. Unamed (illustratore). An extremely smart seven volume set of memoirs by N. W. Wraxall. A seven volume uniformly bound set. Comprising two sets, both dated 1893. The two sets included are 'Historical Memoirs of His Own Time' which is a new edition, in four volumes, and 'Posthumous Memoirs of His Own Time' a second edition, in three volumes. With the bookplate of Sir Francis Danson to the Posthumous Memoirs, and a second unknown bookplate to Historical Memoirs. Nathaniel Wraxall was a English author, known for his memoir writings. Travelling extensively, Wraxall made the acquaintance of numerous notable figures in Europe, including Frederik Ludvig Ernst Bülow and Ernst Schimmelmann. Wraxall's first memoirs appeared in 1815, and he was imprisoned in 1816. Wraxall believed that his memoirs we in part to blame for his incarceration, resulting in his decision to publishing his remaining memoirs posthumously. Both his historical and posthumous memoirs offer a interesting insight into life of Wraxall, as well as the social and political climate in which he was writing. This handsomely bound set is very good indeed. In a half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the extremities, and to the front and rear boards. Bookplate to the front pastedown of volume I-III of 'Posthumous', as well as a small numeral label also to the front pastedown to each of these volumes. Volumes I-III of 'Historical' also has a small numeral label to the front pastedown. Unknown bookplate to the front pastedown of volume I of 'Historical'. Large pencil inscription to the reverse of the front endpaper of volume I of 'Historical', as well as a newpaper cuttings to the front and reverse of the front free blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with the odd pencil mark, and the very occasional spot. Very Good Indeed. book.
