Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. First Edition. Dark blue cloth, faded to the spine and chipped to top of spine. Ten plates one coloured the rest black and white, and also illustrations in the text. The front endpaper has a rather poignant dedication, hand written in ink by a previous owner, 'Dear Miss Sargent I gave this book (at Christmas) to my dearest nephew Mervyn Richardson, R. W. F. We feel we should like you to have it, as you did so much for him, and he was always fond of you. Yours Sincerely, Evelyn F C Hewitt, March 1916.' The story of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers follows their history from the raising of the regiment, through the camp at Dundalk in Ireland, the Battle of the Boyne, Aghrim, Namur, Blenheim, Oudenarde, Dettingen and Fontenoy, etc . North America, etc, . in the Peninsula Campaigns at Corunna, Albuera, Badajoz, Salamanca, Madrid, Vittoria, the Pyrenees - Orthes and Toulouse and even at Walcheren. Also at Waterloo, in America and the West Indies during peace times, in the Crimea, at the Indian Mutiny, in the Ashanti War, Burma, South Africa and the Great War. A Chapter is also devoted to the Militia, Volunteer, Territorial and Service Battalions. Complete with Appendices. Top edge 'dusty'. A little foxing to page fore-edges. A couple of scratched out names and one ink name to the endpapers otherwise a VERY clean, bright, tight copy.; 8470; 8vo (large).

Hardcover. Condizione: Acceptable. Country Life Library, London, 1904; 1908; 1909. Includes Volumes 1, 2, and 3. Blue buckram with gilt titles on spine and cover. Blue endpapers( all lightly sunned at edges). Gilt edges. This is a three volumes set describing the architecture, building and interior decoration and furnishings of some of the great houses of England. All volumes are illustrated with hundreds of B&W photographs. Included with the first volume is a typed undated page listing paneled rooms from period homes available in a London Warehouse with prices in pounds sterling. This set was from an architect's collection. Vol. I is Fair. 421 pages. Dated 1904. The corners are bumped and worn through cloth to boards. Spine ends heavily worn and about 1/4 " of cloth missing at each end. Interior is tight and clean. Vol II is Fair. 436 pages. Dated 1908. Piece of cloth ( 2 1/2" x 1") from spine at top left torn off boards. Spine ends condition as on Vol. I. Corners bumped and slightly worn through. Front hinge cracked but still attached to boards. Interior is also tight and clean. Vol. III is also Fair. 443 pages. Dated 1909. Front hinge started but still solidly attached to boards. Top right corner appears to have been chewed by dog. Other corners worn through to boards. Spine ends also worn heavily. Again, Interior tight and clean. Ships from Dinkytown in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
