Marbled end sheets in back. Blank verso of the right front flyleaf covers the front marbled end sheets. Light to moderate scattered foxing and toning to contents. Light spotting to the binding. Leather is rubbed on the covers and edges. Rear hinge cracked.

Xii pp + 480 pages with one folding plate of the "Power Loom" Factory of Thomas Robinson's of Stockport with an engraved frontispiece vignette of "Orrell's Cotton Factory, Stockport and a folding chart of statistical figures for Textile Factories in Gt Britain at the time with children under 11 as over 4,000 male and 5308 girls & 11-18 as 67,203 males and 89,822 female, this chart has a long horizontal closed tear but complete, other woodcut illustrations in the text, the binding is all original blind stamped publishers cloth but poor with spine and top board detached and spine detached with loss at top edge but still here with the book, contents a little handled and a little spotting at prelims, but good margins and all tight, text mostly very good, also has the errata slip at page 116 intact, ink date at top of the preface page 1835 octavo. 1835. *If the industrial era of this country means anything to you then this book is a must, from the silk worms in China to the various wools and flaxes, statistics of the factory system, manufacturing, how they worked and the scientific economy and the 3rd of 4 parts dealing with the "Moral Economy" of the system, part 4 is the "Commercial Economy".
