Relie, hardcover, , 21.5x27 cm., 176 pp., illustre. ISBN 9789061531159. 1150 g.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. The fact that Rubens was a connoisseur of architecture is clear from his paintings. But he was additionally involved in high-profile Antwerp projects, like the extension of his spacious studio-residence and possibly also the building of the present-day St. Charles Borromeus church, considered by his contemporaries as 'the eight wonder of the world'. Rubens found inspiration in painter-architects such as Michelangelo and Guilio Romano and in Italian books devoted to architecture. Well-illustrated catalogue published on the occasion of an exhibition held at Rubens House, 10 Sept. - 11 Dec., 2011. 176 pages : illustrations (some color) ; 22 x 28 cm. First edition, first printing. Illustrated boards, slight shelf wear to edges, no inscriptions, tight and square binding. Photographs available on request.
