This work contains a prose translation, and the original verse in French, as well as appendices, etc. Creton (fl. 1386-1420) was travelling in England in 1399 as part of the King's entourage, and was a witness to many of the occurrences that led to Richard's fall. He had an audience with Bolingbroke, soon to be Henry IV, after he had captured the King. His work forms an important first-hand account of the events. With 16 engraved plates from an early manuscript of the work. This is not the full Volume XX, but only those parts that relate to the fall of Richard. Head of spine worn, and corners rubbed. Plates a little spotted. A few small ink stamps of Flintshire Historical Society, that to the f.f.e.p. marked 'cancelled'. Tear to margin of pp. 211/212.
