A very good full polished calf leather hardback with detauiled gilt decoration to spine and burgundy morocco label with gilt title. Mild bumping and wear to boards with a little creasing to spine. Bookplate of Hamilton Montgomerie of Newton (Scotland) to first pastedown. Front inner hinge cracked, but still soundly bound. Some offsetting to blank endpapers. Text is very good throughout - bright and clean. Some mild corner creasing to text pages and a touch of offsetting opposite plates, but overall a very nice example. Frontispiece + title + ii Contents + xxxi + 323pp + 6pp additional Plates. Text in English. Dimensions: approximately 185mm high x 120mm wide x 35mm deep. Unpacked weight approximately 490g.
