Pages are unnumbered, I counted 96. Apparent first edition (NAP). The book is in exceptional condition. I've listed it as a soft cover. The covers themselves are sort of in between hard and soft. The dust jacket is basically the covers, but the covers have what are called French Flaps. There is a fair amount of variation in the works of Mr. Pinchuk, a significant amount of creativity and originality. In terms of the condition of the book, there is nothing significant to complain about. You can see the covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling at all. There is a tiny nick right above the front bottom edge, a tiny crinkle at the spine's top edge. The French Flaps look perfect or parfait (are flaps masculine or feminine?) The pages are perfectly clean. They are nicely bright. I don't see any creasing on either the covers or the pages. There are no markings anywhere in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There are illustrations on every page following the introductory essay, the English translation of which runs four pages. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. All in all, I think you could describe this as being in 'gift condition'.

Comparison of output microwave pulses produced by the microwave pulse compressor equipped with a mechanically operated switch and a fast gas-discharge switch showed that the latter one sufficiently shortens the rise time of the output microwave pulse. Results of this research suggest that: i) the use of a transparent cathode in relativistic and, probably, nonrelativistic magnetrons provides better mode selection by locking the desired magnetron oscillations in a shorter period of time, and ii) the use of a faster switch (as fast as possible) in a waveguide of a microwave pulse compressor shortens the rise time of the compressed output microwave pulse. 132 pp. Englisch.
