Hardcover. Condizione: New. Condizione sovraccoperta: New. Jacket photo by Angus McBean (illustratore). Not a book but an unopened, 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm stereo vinyl record, London OS 25992, presumed mint vinyl still sealed in original publisher's shrink-wrap. Selections from "Conversation Piece," "Bitter Sweet," "Operette," and "Pacific 1860," (originally performed on the London stage 1929-1954), with the guest appearance by Noel Coward himself on "Dearest Love" from "Operette" (which show opened March 16, 1938 at His Majesty's Theatre, starring Peggy Wood.) Jacket notes by Miles Kreuger. "Play this record only on stereophonic equipment." This record, still sealed, was acquired from the estate of Howard Hughes' right-hand man Robert Maheu, at the sale of Mr. Maheu's estate at his Las Vegas (Nevada) home, Nov. 15, 2008, though it does not display any ownership markings. Robert Aime Maheu, World War Two veteran of the FBI whose later work for the CIA was said to have been the model for the TV show "Mission Impossible," became the reclusive Howard Hughes' right-hand man in Las Vegas in the 1960s, though he never met Hughes face-to-face, receiving his instructions via memo and telephone. Reduced from $17.

Aggiungi al carrelloLaminated Hardcover Full Gloss. Condizione: As New. No Jacket. Angus McBride (illustratore). ### ### The Ladybird Book Series - Wizard of Oz - 1984 by L F Baum - Well Loved Tales - Re-told by Joan Collins ### ##THIS BOOK: Classified AS NEW: This book is the 1982 Revised edition?full gloss cover and laminated. The inside is clean and clear; the spine is tight, assuming it has been minimal read, if at all. ## ## Kindly be aware that the dates in the Ladybird Book may not always be what they seem. Typically, the first editions are printed on the back of the free end paper, opposite the title page. It's also worth noting that ISBNs were not introduced until 1967, and decimalisation did not occur until 15th February 1971. The dates can be represented as either numbers or Roman numerals.## ### The Ladybird Books, both the classics we've all cherished and the new additions, continue to captivate children globally. Those who purchase these books are well aware of their content. The key considerations are always the book's condition, the presence of a dust jacket, and its publication year. A First Edition doesn't necessarily equate to a high value; the rarity of a book drives up the price. From my observations, the interior of the books generally remains in good condition, with occasional scribbles. However, the dust jackets and hardcovers tend to show signs of wear and tear.### ## Here's an intriguing piece of history: The company's roots trace back to 1867 when Henry Wills established a bookshop in Loughborough, Leicestershire. His business evolved over the next decade, expanding into the printing and publishing guidebooks and street directories. In 1904, William Hepworth joined the venture, leading to the formation of Wills & Hepworth.## ## In August 1914, Wills & Hepworth ventured into children's literature, publishing their inaugural books under the Ladybird imprint. The brand was initially a Ladybird logo featuring open wings, which later transitioned to the more recognisable closed-wing Ladybird in the late 1950s. Over the years, the Ladybird logo has been revamped multiple times, with the most recent redesign unveiled in 2006 ## ### INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please Note. FREE SHIPPING IS UK ONLY. Vintage studio still photograph from the 1970 film. With an American International Pictures stamp to the verso, alongside a cello-taped mimeograph snipe. Featuring a "black militant" being forcibly removed from the room by actor Larry Hagman, while Harlene Jones and Judy Pace look on. A lighthearted comedy and a movie that probably could not be made today, in which Wes Stern fails out of college attempts suicide, only to be saved against his will by university president Larry Hagman, who flunked him. In grumpy retaliation, Stern decides to bed the three women most important to the president: his mistress, his wife, and his daughter. Set against the backdrop of Civil Rights campus upheaval. Shot on location in New Mexico. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.
