Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -As an engine of economic development for developing countries, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows have contributed for creation of technology transfer to local firms and managerial know-how; have had positive effects on exports and access to external markets. It is also argued that FDI will contribute to economic growth and hence generate more jobs. Driven by this, the government of Tanzania has attempted to attract FDI in the 1990s by offering generous incentives to achieve this target. This book, therefore, provides a new insights into the fields of economics and international business. The employment effect of FDI and gross domestic product (GDP) in Tanzania for the period 1990 to 2008 is analyzed empirically using SPSS. The analysis should help shed some light into FDI and economic growth and their impact on employment creation in Tanzania, and should be especially useful to multinational corporations in developed and developing countries. It is also likely to be of interest to policy makers and development practitioners in government, non-government organizations and in the the donor community. 88 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -There has been a major shift within macroeconomic policy over the past two decades in terms of the relative importance given in monetary policy and fiscal policy. In most cases monetary policy has gained importance whereas fiscal policy is rarely mentioned. This book, therefore, provides new insights into the field of economics. The relative effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies on macroeconomic management in Tanzania for the period 1990 to 2009 is analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The empirical analysis should help shed some light into monetary and fiscal policies and their impact on macroeconomic management in Tanzania, and should be specifically useful to economists from developed and developing countries. It is also likely to be of interest to policy makers and development practitioners in governments, central banks, and international financial institutions. 84 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Many studies show that the inflow of FDI plays a significant role in generating employment opportunities in host countries. Over the past two decades, the East African Community (EAC) countries have attracted foreign direct investment from developed countries and FDI flows to the EAC region increased significantly. The objective of this study was to undertake an empirical analysis on creation of employment opportunities by FDI during 2004-2008 in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. We used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The study shows that despite the clear enthusiasm of governments in these countries to attract FDI, its impact is not substantial in some of these countries. This book therefore, provides a new insight into the fields of international investments and economic development. The analysis should help shed some light into FDI and its impact on jobs creation in the EAC region, and should be especially useful to multinational corporations from developed countries and emerging economies. It is also likely to be of interest to policy makers and development practitioners in governments, non-governmental organizations and in the donor community. 100 pp. Englisch.
