Blue boards with Indian in gilt on front and rear board, rubbed, soiled and shelfworn. Gilt on spine dulled, with some chipping to lower spine end and fraying to top spine edge. Edge points worn to boards and page edges soiled. Internally, a previous owners name is inked to top edge of 1st free end-page, but otherwise, paper is age-toned but relatively clean with occasional smudge marks scattered throughout and an old damp stain to lower fore-edge intrudes into margins, getting smaller and smaller, and vanishing by page 148. The binding is tight but ever so slightly cocked, and hinges intact. A very good, solid copy. *Howes B781.
