Prima edizione

First Edition. Scarce: 1 copy cited in Worldcat. A greatly expanded version of the author's account of the parish of Belfast which won a faculty prize at the Belfast Academical Institution in 1819. It was issued anonymously when Benn was only 22 years of age. "For so young a writer it was a work of uncommon judgment and research, exceedingly well written, with an eye for scenery and a taste for economics as well as for antiquities. It is not superseded by Benn's later and larger labours." (DNB).
