Heritage Park is a model village built on a 127 acre site on Glenmore Reservoir within the city limits of Calgary Alberta. Here are preserved some of the homes, business buildings and artifacts of the turn of the century (circa 1903) in Calgary. Many buildings were moved restored from nearby locales : Strathmore, Airdrie, Barons, Lundbreck, etc. One of the features is the working railway (or perhaps the merry-go round); this volume was printed in the park at an old print shoppe.128 pages with a few b/w photographs. Learn about : Sunalta Ravine, street-car, Canmore Opers, Bedingfeld Ranch, Sam Livingston and the double storey outhouse. Cond : Paper wrapper is orange with burgundy lettering and a b/w image of the Prince House. Apart from minor soiling on the cover, the book has no flaws, no names, no tears. The binding job is skewed and opening the book fully is a challenge. Else a collectible copy ! ! Quote (p. 16) : " ._._. soon learned a healthy respect for it. This sample of Buck Thorn Barbed Wire was found on Strath Pine Ranch, located where Pine Creek flows into the Bow River about 16 miles south of Calgary, It may have been installed about 1886 by ._._._. ."
