Cloth. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. Illustrated (illustratore). The bottom of the dj got a little bit wet in the back and some stuck to the bottom of the back cover, just a small amount, corners and spine ends are bumped, dark blue hard boards with orange print in very nice condition. Decorated end papers, clean and tight inside, 238pp, nice copy. Dj is just fair to poor, lots of small edge tears, stain and smudges, however complete and useful, pictures on request and with our pleasure.

Condition issues include: light edge wear to the front cover; small closed tear at the bottom of the spine, light soiling to the back cover; and pages 171/172 are missing - affecting an article by Martin H Kennelly, It All Comes Out on Moving Day. A good to very good copy due to the missing pages with a P G Wodehouse short story. Spine dull else Very Good condition. Clean, tight, and unmarked. Inner hinges are firm. No owner's name or bookplate. Illustrated with frontispiece (tissue-guarded) and 5 other tinted plates by J. C. Chase. This book appeared in England the following year as Heart's Delight (Ward, 1906). Louis Tracy (1863-1928) sometimes used the pseudonym "Gordon Holmes." He occasionally collaborated with M. P. Shiel, although Shiel's contributions were not acknowledged on the title page. For author bio see: Steinbrunner and Penzler, Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection, p.392 Hubin (1979), p406.
