A review copy, with reviewer's notes: Book Received: Dec. 13, 1951 / Review Sent: Dec. 17, 1951 / Review Published: Dec. 29, 1951. A clipping of the brief review (by Wilma Wright Slater) is glued to front pastedown. We find very little on Clarence Mervyn Fink and this book. The publisher (and subsequently the reviewer) note he: "was born in Hamilton, and attended Victoria Avenue school" (presumably Hamilton, Ontario - Victoria Avenue School by time of the book's publication had been renamed Tweedsmuir School). The publisher goes on to claim: "this little book. will instantly revive pleasant memories for Canadian visitors to Southern California who enjoyed the Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park." The illustrator, Charles A. Nichols, we presume to be Charles August Nichols, animator and director for Disney and Hanna-Barbera. Jacket on sturdy stock, with light scuffing; text on thick, quality paper. 7.75 x 5.5 inches.
