Soft cover. Condizione: New. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Finding The Farm, The Search for the Kleins First Roots in Pennsylvania, (2018), is about the hunt for the original homestead of Bernard and Sebastian Klein. Almost 300 years ago, the Klein Brothers claimed a 238-acre farm along the colonial frontier in Philadelphia County (now Berks County). Family Historians believe their farm was the gathering point for the family of Moritz Klein from Postorff, Alsace after his family immigrated from 1739 to 1749. The exact location of the farm was lost. Finding the Farm follows the ownership of the land from the original land grant to the current owner of the largest intact portion of the farm using many of the original warrants, surveys and deeds. Many new details about the Klein s ownership of the farm were discovered in the course of the research. Included are 45 figures, 25 historical documents, and 26 original black & white photos of the farm and the historical landmarks as they exist today. A must have title to complete your historical library collection. Soft cover. Condizione: New. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Near the end of World War II, Army Rangers raid the German village of Vorgebenstadt, planned because of captured Nazi aircraft plans, hidden by German deserters in a smuggler s suitcase. Vorgebenstadt, an underground weapons factory, will produce some of the most exotic weapons of WW II. The American raid captures these weapons. In the middle of a June night in 1947, Soviet agent Ruben Campos wakes as large trucks rumble through the hamlet of Jubilee, New Mexico. Campos follows them into the desert. Soldiers unload heavy construction equipment and begin digging. Afraid of discovery, he seeks a better location to observe the dig. The soldiers finish and are leaving when Campos finds a safe location, missing the intelligence opportunity of a lifetime. On the bluffs above, the activity unfolding below him mesmerizes Handsome John Gomez. An Apache and a photographer, impulsively he takes a hundred pictures. Campos sees a man descend from the bluffs with cameras and flee on his motorbike. His luck has changed. Campos must find this man and get the photographs at all costs. Days later, newspaper stories report the Army s recovery of a crashed flying saucer near Roswell, New Mexico. The next day, the Army denies the story. Are the pictures the scoop of the decade? The mysterious Internal Security Agency (ISA) decrypts Campos message to control and their top-secret operation compromised. Michael Hanlon, former OSS operative, forms a team of ISA agents to identify the photographer and Soviet Agent R-38 Ruben Campos. Both R-38 working alone, and the ISA team identifies the photographer, but they recover the photographs before Campos. They frame Gomez for counterfeiting currency and murder. He slips through the IRA dragnet and flees Albuquerque for Old Mexico. Beaten to the cache of photographs, Campos luck improves again. He finds a letter from Gomez s friend in Chicago, where Gomez sent another set of photographs. ISA cryptologists decipher Campos second coded message about his discovery and, once again, Campos loses his advantage. Meanwhile, state troopers find Gomez s abandoned motorbike in southwestern New Mexico. Hanlon splits up his team. One ISA agent leads a posse through the boot heel of New Mexico with Grey Wolfe, an Apache tracker. In the merciless July heat, bad luck preys upon the posse almost immediately. The posse follows a man s tracks through rugged backcountry. Gomez shadows the posse, and the hunters become the hunted. Four members of the Posse die in pursuit of Gomez before they reach the border. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Hanlon switches Gomez s photographs for a doctored set. Campos arrives in Chicago and meets a pair of Soviet Agents. ISA agents have Gomez s friend s apartment under surveillance. The Soviets steal the faked photographs, and send them to Moscow via their embassy in Washington. ISA agents discover Soviet Agent R-38 s identity. Flight testing of new, exotic aircraft, once confined to just government airspace, can fly anywhere. People will forever believe strange lights in the night sky are Alien spaceships and not exotic military aircraft. Soft cover. Condizione: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. "Prophetic symbolism is one of the key topics of this volume. On Isaiah, John F.A. Sawyer finds radical images of Yahweh, Kenneth T. Aitken looks at the metamorphosis of the key motif of hearing, seeing and understanding, Michael L. Barre examines lions and birds in 31.4-5, and Marvin A. Sweeney re-examines vmes(tm)s in 8.6. The imagery of Ezekiel is explored by Leslie C. Allen (the 'Death Valley' vision) and M.G. Swanepoel (Ezekiel 16 and female images of Israel), and Alan Cooper and Athalya Brenner write on the book of Jonah. Two essays of more general scope deal with the search for unity in Isaiah (David Carr) and the redactional shape of Nahum 1 (James Nogalski). An attractive and stimulating volume which reflects the liveliness of current research on the prophetic literature." (Publisher).
