Soft cover. Condizione: As New. Condizione sovraccoperta: As New. Gregory Colbert (illustratore). 1st Edition. FIVE (5) UNIQUE HANDBOUND PORTFOLIOS FROM THE INAUGURAL ASHES AND SNOW EXHIBITION IN VENICE, 2002. THIS IS A COMPLETE SET! These pre-date the catalogues for sale on ABE from the New York and other exhibitions. In April of 2002, I personally contacted the Ashes And Snow exhibition staff and ordered these 5 catalogues direct from Venice. They are breathtakingly beautiful - hand made of Japanese paper with a bamboo strip and natural fiber cord tie. Each catalogue is stamped "Ashes and Snow" with the appropriate book number 1-5 and contains 22-25 Gregory Colbert images which are truly stunning. Also included is an envelope with the Venice exhibition address on the back. Please see the photos and request more if you are interested. INCREDIBLY RARE AND IN PRISTINE CONDTION! The public debut of Ashes and Snow took place in 2002 at the Arsenale in Venice. Ashes and Snow by Canadian artist Gregory Colbert is an installation of photographic artworks, films, and a novel in letters that travels in the Nomadic Museum, a temporary structure built exclusively to house the exhibition. The work explores the shared poetic sensibilities of human beings and animals. Ashes and Snow has traveled to Venice, New York City, Santa Monica, Tokyo, and Mexico City. To date, Ashes and Snow has attracted more than 10 million visitors, making it the most attended exhibition by a living artist in history.
