Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. Davis, Jack; Drucker, Mort (illustratore). Very good condition color illustrated softcover wraps. Profusely illustrated with black-and-white drawings. "Ever since he can remember, Dick De Bartolo wanted to be a writer of comedy and humor, but until that day comes along, he keeps plugging away for Mad Magazine! Not that his work isn't recognized-millions of people recognize it immediately and pass it by! What makes them do this is Kick's novel approach to comedy. He starts out by writing serious, and then doesn't change a word! But unfortunately, his talents are not confined to Mad alone. His umorous touch was evident on the now defunct "Dough Re Mi," and he was writer-producer of the now defunct "Winky Dink & You." If his "magic touch" continues, Mad Magazine will be defunct by the time you read this! Dick has also written "On The Set,", "The Funny SIde of TV," "Let The Cameras Roll," Gals, Gams and Gags," and literally dozens of other book titles, but this is the first title he has written some insides for! We know you'll like.A MAD Look at Old Movies.".

Wraps. Condizione: Good. Mort Drucker (illustratore). Presumed First Edition, First printing. The format is approximately 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Unpaginated (48 pages). Illustrated covers. Illustrations. Inspired by the JFK Coloring Book. This is a coloring book where each page is a caricature of a different political figure. None of the pages have been colored. Morris "Mort" Drucker (March 22, 1929 - April 9, 2020) was an American caricaturist and comics artist best known as a contributor for over five decades in Mad, where he specialized in satires on the leading feature films and television series. .Jackie Kannon (July 25, 1926 - February 1, 1974) was a stand-up comedian, club entrepreneur, and publisher. With his printer Alexander Roman, he founded the publisher Kanrom, which published primarily humorous materials, including The New York Times best seller JFK Coloring Book. His night club The Rat Fink Room has been cited as "America's first comedy club". Kannon started in comedy in 1947 as the emcee at Club Top Hat in Detroit, where he worked for two years until his off-color material drew the attention of the Censorship Division of the local police, at which point the club fired him. He was later hired for a two week gig at Detroit's Gay Haven Club, which paid $450 for week. That gig turned into becoming a house comedian there, netting him $2000 per week by the time he left. He had a local TV show on Detroit's WXYZ-TV. After that, he toured, getting booked in such places as the Coconut Grove and The Flamingo Casino and on the Borscht Belt. Kannon got into publishing with lithographer Alex Roman in 1958; they named their publishing line Kanrom, a portmanteau of their names. By 1966 they had published 50 titles and were grossing $1.5 million per year. Their publishing was almost exclusively humorous in nature, with the sole exception being Once There Was a President, a children's biography of American President John F. Kennedy. Their first publication was a humorous planner, the Daily Dilly. Their biggest hit was JFK Coloring Book. This satirical adult coloring book illustrated by Mad magazine artist Mort Drucker spent 12 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and moved about a half million copies before being taken out of print in the wake of the president's assassination. Other publishing efforts included a series of books meant to be hung in the bathroom with an attached chain, starting with Poems for the John. Mad magazine artist Sergio Aragonés drew two series of cartoon booklets for them: the Sam, the Ceiling Needs Painting featured couples in the midst of sex depicted solely by the soles of their feet, while the Fanny Hillman series depicted the Jewish head of houses of prostitution. Among the figures depicted in this increasingly scarce example of mid-Twentieth Century ephemeral political/graphic humor are: JFK, RFK, Teddy Kennedy, Harry Truman, Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon, Dwight Eisenhower, Nelson Rockefeller, Mayor Wagner, Jackie Kennedy, Justice Black, Jimmy Hoffa, Estes Kefauver, Wayne Morse, George Romney, Orval Fabus, Dean Rusk, Arthur Schlesinger, Newton Minnow, Westbrook Pegler, Martin Luther King, Walter Reuther, Earl Warren, Walter Winchell, Nasser, Jawaharlal Nehru, Ben Gurion, Princess Grace, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse Tung, Sukarno, Farouk, Moise Tshombe, Krishna Menon, Generalissimo Franco, Shah of Iran, Harold Macmillan, Charles De Gaulle, Chiang Kai-shek, Konrad Adenauer, and Khrushchev.
