Nach dem Abschluss des Studiums zum Bauingenieur in Wien fand er aufgrund der katastrophalen wirtschaftlichen Situation keinen Job. In dieser Zeit hat er die Bleiburgerhütte auf der Petzen gebaut und mit seiner ersten Frau bewirtschaftet.Ab 1935 war er auf Großbaustellen in Deutschland und Österreich tätig und wurde im 2.Weltkrieg von der Deutschen Wehrmacht nach Bergen, Norwegen beordert, um einen wichtigen U-Boot Bunker zu bauen. Dort lernte er meine Mutter kennen, die er 1944 heiratete, im Oktober bin ich zur Welt gekommen. Nach dem Krieg baute mein Vater in Wels eine Baufirma auf, mit der er sehr erfolgreich war.
