Condizione: Fair. 366 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial cloth. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed. Illustration has been removed from spine. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

No publication date but likely circa 1923. The story of a young South African girl. Intended as a children's story and meant to introduce readers to children of other cultures, the writing in this small book provides a window on racial attitudes of the time.

Red fabric covers with decoration in grey and black to front and gilt to spine, let in illustrations to front and spine. All similar to late Vic/Edw. General wear with damp loss of colour to front top outer edge, spine fade. 398 pages all unmarked however inside front cover has name crossed out . Binding good and nothing loose.
