The spine ends and corners show wear but the edges are nice. "Henry Clay" on the spine is still bright gilt. ( There is a separation of the spine block and the top cover, also a mild spine crack on the back cover.) The pages are still tight. This book is dedicated to Dr. William Turner of New York.The preface is dated 1848 and act of Congress is dated 1848. The bottom of title page is dated 1848.The frontispiece Clay is still bright with some light foxing.The pages have foxing but mostly on the edge. One back free page is missing half a page.
