Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. Jacket by Eric Fraser (illustratore). 1st Edition. First published in May 1951, this is a third impression of later the same year. Edge wear, chipping, short closed tears and some loss to top and bottom of fabulous retro jacket by Eric Fraser, spine faded, corners and folds rubbed with loss, some browning and spotting to page fore edges. Not price clipped (15s), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a reasonable copy for its age. 593pp. A light hearted novel which concentrates on a few weeks in the life of a village community in England leading up to a summer festival. Author, playwright and broadcaster J. B. Priestley (1894-1984), published it almost certainly to coincide with the Festival of Britain in 1951 it has a large cast of characters and perfectly captures the spirit of a bygone and simpler age.
