Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf 'software multiagent systems', automatisierter Übertragung, agentenbasierter, rechnerbetonten Wirtschaftswissenschaft und allgemeiner EDV. Er studierte Informationssysteme in Kiel und Mannheim (Diplom) und promovierte 2000 in Freiburg. 2001 erhielt er von der Alcatel SEL Stiftung den Preis für die beste deutsche Dissertation in Wirtschaftsinformatik. Zusammen mit der Deutschen Telekom (T Systemen) veröffentlichte er im Jahr 2000 die Studie "Digital Business Agents". Er ist Autor diverser Fach- und Tagungsbeiträge. Für längere Forschungsaufenthalte besuchte er die 'System Development Labs' von Hitachi in Yokohama sowie die British Telecom Labs in Martlesham Heath, Großbritanien. 322 pp. Deutsch.

As in recent years, MATES 2005 provided a distinguished, lively and int- disciplinary forum for researchers, users, and developers of agent technology, to present and discuss the latest advances of research and development in the area of autonomous agents and multiagent systems. Accordingly, the topics of MATES 2005 covered the whole range from the theory to applications of age- and multiagent technology.
