PUBLISHER'S FILE COPY with a number written in stamped box "Library Book No." with 738 written in ink in the box, on the first front free page from Abelard's in-house library; this was an editor's copy. I got this and many other box from Ed Schwartz, neighbor of my bookstore in Philadelphia, the son of Lew Schwartz, founder of Abelard Press in 1948 and his wife Frances Schwartz, editor of the same company. Price of $2.95 on dj flap. Otherwise the jacket is clean, bright and attractive, with a sliver of dust-soiling along the top and bottom edges of the flaps. DET 022544 CARP.
