Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good+ dj. 3rd printing. (price-clipped) [light shelfwear to bottom of book, very slight crack/exposure of board at lower front corner; jacket is quite nice with just minor edgewear, a little diagonal creasing in the front flap]. (B&W photographs, cartoons, etc.) A very entertaining compilation of letters, notes, scripts, newspaper articles, photographs, etc., almost all sourced from within the Fields family archives by his youngest grandson. Although the book's claim to be "his intended autobiography" is a bit of an over-reach, there's no question that nearly fifty years after its publication, this remains one of the essential works on Fields. (Fun fact: most of the primary material that Ronald Fields drew upon for this book was subsequently donated by the Fields family to the Margaret Herrick Library at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where it comprises the W.C. Fields Papers.) **** NOTE that additional charges will be requested for international shipping of this moderately heavy book, or for Priority Mail service to U.S. destinations; if this concerns you, please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order. ****.

Without the sensationalist padding of dubious anecdotes, this is the autobiography that Fields might have written.
