This is inscribed on the title page opposite the frontispiece piece photograph of Carey in his role in the John Ford directed film, Wagonmaster. With a hint of handling, else fine in printed wrappers. Harry Carey Jr. (1921-2012) was a distinguished American film actor best known for being a member of director John FordÕs stock company appearing in such classics as The Searchers, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Three Godfathers, Wagonmaster, Cheyenne Autumn, Rio Grande, The Long Gray Line, etc. He was in the cast of director Howard HawksÕ masterwork, Red River. Among other directors, for whom Carey worked, they include William A. Wellman, Henry Hathaway, Lindsay Anderson, George Cosmatos, Peter Bogdanovich, Joe Dante, Edward Dmytryk, Robert Mulligan, Andrew V. McLaglen, Burt Kennedy, etc. A long time friend of actor John Wayne, Carey worked with many famous Hollywood actors including Marilyn Monroe.

Joe McBride, August 1981Ó. Olive Carey was appeared in silent films, sound films, and on television. She was the mother of Harry Carey Jr., who appeared in many John Ford directed films. Olive Carey was a long time friend of Ford who cast her in several of his films. She is best remembered for being in the key classic ending of The Searchers and appears in a still photograph from the film on page 158. Fine condition.
