White dust jacket with full color illustration of two birds and black lettering to the front cover and spine. Dated 2015 on copyright page. No date on title page. 332 pages. Very good condition. Binding is strong and sturdy. Covers are tight and square. A tiny bit of bumping to the head of the spine and the foot of the front cover. No rubbing or staining to the covers. Pages bright and free of marks throughout. No notes or toning. Gorgeous, full color illustration throughout, as well as plenty of maps, diagrams and smaller, black and white sketches. Dust jacket is crisp and clean. A touch of wrinkling at the head of the spine, on the front only. No tears or chipping. Jacket has been wrapped in a protective mylar cover. The cover has some faint scuffing, but the jacket itself is free of wear. Overall very good condition. SIGNED by the author and illustrator on a "Pigeons and Doves in Australia" postcard. This book is from the collection of Thomas Lovejoy. Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term biological diversity to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
