This 1996 revised edition of Maria Howard Weeden's poems and her art is bound in beige cloth, unmarked and in near fine condition. The dust jacket is very good with slight wear. Loose copies of a poem and three water colors are tucked in. Born in 1846 in Alabama, Miss Weeden, who signed herself Howard Weeden, published four volumes of poetry and numerous illustrations and paintings, many lovely watercolors of African Americans. Book contains biographical material and an introduction by Joel Chandler Harris.
