Libro
Hard cover. Unabridged. Mustard-gold woven cloth over boards. Black spine title box, gold titles. 24 cm. Unpaginated. Bulk: Archival handwritten diary pages, family photos. American poet Robert Frost lived in Derry, New Hampshire, with his family from 1905-1909. Daughter Lesley began writing a journal at age 6. Over 4 years, she filled more than 500 notebook pages, here reproduced. The reader glimpses the poet in his literary formative years as companion, playmate, botanizer, farmer, teacher, as well as poet. The accompanying notes add historical, geographical, and literary context. As an adult, Lesley Frost introduced these journals with a retrospective essay. Both Thompson and Grade are academic writers with long experience in literary criticism, anthology editing, and biography. Very good in good dust jacket. Price clipped. Near fine save for top page block foxing. Jacket has edge wear, discoloration, unmarked front cover homestead photo w/ running kids.
