It is embellished with vignettes on wine, its history, uses, storage and service as well as certain articles from earlier numbers of Bottles and Bins (quarterly). Blank pages are provided and unused. Recipe contributors along with their city and state are given. Sections include: Hors d'Oeuvre; Soups; Fish & Shell Fish; Poultry; Meat; Game; Vegetables; Sauces; Desserts and Fruits; Punches and Coolers; Miscellaneous; and more. A very wide variety within each section makes one salivate while reading. Among them is a recipe for Tournedos Rossine, (as well as other recipes) contributed by New Orleans iconic restaurant, Brennan's. Tripe Alla Mondavi; Sweetbreads with Chicken Livers;Marinated Venison; Bear and Sauerkraut; Chicken Cannelones; Wine Festival Chicken; and so many more! Founded in 1861 by a German winemaker named Charles Krug, public tastings opened in 1882 making it California's first tasting room. The winery was purchased by an Italian immigrant, Cesare Mondavi in September of 1943 and is one of the last family owned wineries in the region. ; 8vo.
