There is a former owner's signature on the front free end paper, but no other marks or wear. The blue covers are fresh, with minor wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is also in very good condition. It is not price-clipped and again shows only minor wear. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: Michele and Manuela, two twelve-year olds have been "playing house" in a a row of condemned dwellings soon to be torn down. Finding furniture and sneaking into their house has been an absorbing game, but things turn serious when they find a young baby, decide that he was abandoned, and make a committment to care for him themselves. It takes the interventon of Uncle Pablo, a neighbourhood chesnut-seller, to find a solution satisfactory to everyone, including the baby's mother.
