Printed in West Germany, the pages are nice to the touch and have beautifully tanned. 600 illustrations - 180 in full color, 420 photographs, woodcuts, drawings and maps, including, in addition to the great masterpieces, countless little-known contemporary manuscript illuminations, paintings, sculpture, and works of architecture chosen not only for their beauty, but for their meaning. Twelve distinguished authorities, writing as a team, have condensed a vast amount of information into a lucid and readable narrative, that charts the growth and meaning of the Renaissance, the turning point of modern history from 1400 - 1600. All the artwork reproductions are very clear showing great detail, some fold-out. This book weighs 6 lbs (2.7 kg) and will require extra postage.
