This continuous run of the first year-and-a-half of the magazine captures this transition from enthusiast niche to everyday ubiquity. Articles cover computer assembly, microprocessors, and programming, but also emphasize more everyday uses such as golf handicapping, gaming, and music. With a circulation by the mid-80s approaching half-a-million, a defining publication of a generation-defining technology. 10.75'' x 8''. Original color pictorial wrappers, all. The very first issue, unfortunately, is in the roughest shape with a dampstain to its last half, a little associated wrinkling. Generally, pages toned with age, light shelf wear, a few small stains. A highly technical computing journal that began just after the first home computers were starting to be advertised in the back of electronics magazines. Do-it-yourself columns were popular as was the column "Ciarcia's Circuit Cellar." Byte continued in the US as a print mag until 1998. Rare.
