Re-Issue. FINE. (1938) Blue gilt embossed boards. INSCRIBED by the Author's niece, executrix of his estate. SIGNED, 'House of Wickersham, Ruth Allman, Juneau Alaska 1977'. On her passing the Wickersham house became an Alaska State museum. Of Wickersham, the first european to attempt Mt. McKinley, it was written: "No other man has made as deep and varied imprints on Alaska's heritage, whether it be in politics, government, commerce, literature, history or philosophy. A federal judge, member of Congress, attorney and explorer, present-day Alaska is deeply in debt to him." Book is tight, with uncracked spine and sharp points. [B63]. Signed by Editor.

Author served as U.S. District Judge in Alaska 1900-1908, Alaska Congressman for 14 years, and as Editor for seven volumes of "Alaska Law Reports". Prior owner names atop front free endpaper and title page. Above-average wear and soiling to blue boards. Few coffee drops to fore-edge. Contents in quality condition. Endpapers yellowed but contents remain bright. Binding intact. Worthy working copy.
