See Hutton's entry in the Oxford DNB, together with that of the recipient Sir Lovelace Tomlinson Stamer (1829-1908), Anglican Bishop of Shrewsbury. 1p, 12mo. In fair condition, on lightly aged paper, with slight smudging on the first page. With two folds for postage. Addressed to The Revd Sir Lovelace T Stamer Bart and signed R H Hutton . Twenty-five lines of text in a hand that must surely have proved as much of a challenge to Hutton s compositors as to present-day readers. He begins by responding to a kind & generous letter , stating that he will gladly occupy the quarters you so kindly offer , though he would prefer not to impose on you any additional cost, when you must have so much already with your [heavy?] [?] . He has been requested by the Staffordshire Sentinel (Henley) to send him my paper before the first day of the Congress. I suppose I may [?] do so. He discusses the matter further, before concluding: I will not trouble you to write again unless you think it unwise to comply with the Sentinel s request. .
