Other b/w illustrations by that illustrator throughout the book. Large. 12 x 9.75 inches. Book has some shelf wear but is fully intact. Former owner's name on inside of front end paper in ink and also dated 1938. Inside of book is immaculate otherwise and is in very good condition. (BR) Box 323.

Text block near fine, The title page has a squiggle of ink (looks like a child's handiwork), and the paper at the spine is scuffed and faded. The front cover's 1 1/4" at bottom is faded. The binding is fragile. The art work in the text block is lovely.; 6 1/2 x 8 3/4 ".

The title page shows 1939 as the only date. The covers are in great shape with some light soiling and just a hint of edgewear. I have placed a fresh mylar jacket on this old book and it looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

The inside pages are clean and have a faint, soft crease mark along the front edge of the pages where they have been turned. The author is not named on the book but the story is credited on Felicite LeFevre on the internet. This edition includes bright and vibrant illustrations and pen and ink drawings by American artist Fern Bisel Peat.
