Also known as 'Cactus Jack,' Curtice was president of the American Football Coaches Association in 1961. He retired in 1969 as the last coach of the UC-Santa Barbara football team.Curtice coached at Stanford from 1958-62 after holding head coaching positions at West Texas State, Texas Western and Utah.
