Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. Dated 1980, inscribed and boldly signed by the subject, the great American tenor Jan Peerce, in black felt-tip to the half-title page. Number line 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2, only -- the second printing. Book grades "very good" but the dust jacket is "good only" with rub to edges and an unsightly "sticker pull" to the very center of the front panel (please see scans), damaging the color portrait there of the subject, Jan Peerce. Born Jacob Pincus Perelmuth on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Peerce started in the Catskills as "Pinky Pearl and His Dance Society Band," became known for singing "The Bluebird of Happiness" at Radio City Music Hall, debuted with the Metropolitan Opera in 1941 (where he sang Alfredo in "La Traviata," Don Jose in "Carmen," Canio in "Pagliacci," the Duke of Mantua in "Rigoletto," etc.) and made his Broadway debut at the age of 66 as Tevye in "Fiddler On the Roof." Musical memoir / biography. 326 pp. including index. Reduced from $14. Inscribed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm vinyl record, RCA Victor LSP-1709, near-mint vinyl in a very-good-plus cardboard sleeve. The opera singer offers "Wonderful! Wonderful!"; "September Song"; "Autumn Leaves," etc., as well as "Vesti La Giubba" from Pagliacci. Though Peerce certainly did play Vegas on occasion, Michael Sweely's RCA jacket notes make no reference to any specific Las Vegas venue where these tracks may have been recorded. "This is a true stereophonic record specifically designed to be played only on phonographs equipped for stereophonic reproduction. This record will also give outstanding monaural performance on many conventional high fidelity phonographs by a replacement of the cartridge." Etc. Reduced from $18.
Condizione: Good. Good condition. Good dust jacket. A copy that has been read but remains intact. May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains.
Condizione: good. This book is in Good condition. There may be some notes and highligting but otherwise the book is in overall good condition.
